Human Digestive System

The human digestive system breaks down food into nutrients that the body can absorb and use for energy, growth, and repair. It starts in the mouth, where chewing and saliva begin digestion. Food then travels through the esophagus into the stomach, where acids and enzymes continue breaking it down. After that, the partly digested food moves into the small intestine. Most nutrient absorption happens here, aided by enzymes and bile from the liver and pancreas. The leftover waste then goes to the large intestine, where the body absorbs water, and the remaining material forms into stool for elimination through the rectum and anus. This system ensures the body gets important nutrients and stays healthy.
